Overwolf version 0.53.394 released!

3..2..1..Action!

Ladies and gentlemen,

It’s time to unleash your inner Scorspeilberg with the Overwolf video recorder update.
Some of you might be excited beyond what’s humanly possible, as it’s been the most requested feature for some time now, but I’ll ask you to hold off on fainting, as we don’t have the appropriate medical insurance.

The updated video recorder features:

  • Simultaneous recording of both microphone and speaker sound!
  • Less FPS drops while recording!
(DX9 only for this version, DX11 is to follow)
  • Improved stability while recording!

As a quick side note, it’s now possible to record WoW with DX11 and MS above x1.

Now, you know how recording video and streaming video is pretty much the same? We think so too, so the performance enhancements from the video recorder found their way into Twitch streaming as well. You should now have increased game performance when streaming (again, DX9 only).

Everybody, take five.

. . .

Our next scene will feature Message, Dock Message, a.k.a The Annoying Dock Message.
In this scene, our hero is a participant in a disappearance act. Care to guess how it ends? That’s right, *poof*, and he’s gone.
There’s no more of that message that keeps popping from the side of the dock. Instead we cleared it up a little bit with notifications and added the ability to remove these from the settings.

We also added a new dock hotkey that will close and open it – set by default to Ctrl+Shift+D.

One last big thing we worked on for this version is a new Overwolf updater. While it’s a rather complex change from our point, what it means to you, guys, is that Overwolf should update and install better than before.

Additional bug fixes:

  • Browser address bar selection issues
  • Browser focus is now automatically set on the page after loading it
  • Google+ app has been updated with the correct address
  • Tray menu flickering issue

. . .

The following new games are now supported by Overwolf:

  • Wildstar (64bit only during beta)
  • Battlefield 4
  • Titanfall
  • Dawngate
  • Strife
  • Sleeping Dogs
  • Dark Souls II

  • Is this version out yet? I tried to update Overwolf but said it was already updated and it’s at the previous version. I tried to re-download it but it’s still the previous version.

  • I would like to see Age of Empires featured as one of the games one can record. Age of Empires Online seems to be the only ons working with Wolf but who still plays it. Any chances of this happening. I got so excited for a moment when I saw new games were added…
